Health plans strive to prevent illness and improve the health status of their members by designing wellness programs for employers. They offer nutrition and fitness services, weight-loss and control programs, depression management education, complementary check-ups and more. The return on investment from worksite wellness efforts is reported to be at least $3 for every $1 spent. And the return is greater when improved employee morale and productivity is factored in.
